1) In Outlook Express export your e-mail to a USB key or external hard drive.
2) Transfer the USB key to the new laptop
3) In Windows Mail go to File->Import and choose Outlook Express 6 store directory
4) Browse to USB key and import the mail.

This can be easily turned off by following these steps:
1. Open Tools/Accounts, select the email account you want to change, and click Properties.
2. Click the Advanced tab
3. Under Sending, uncheck ‘Break apart messages larger than’
4. Save your changes.

By default Outlook Express will not allow the download of any attachments. To reenable that service follow these steps:
1. Start Outlook Express.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Security tab, click to clear the Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus check box under Virus [...]

Walter’s Outlook Express is unable to copy any file from the Outbox folder to the Sent Items folder. This is most commonly caused by the Sent Items folder exceeding the 2 Gb limit imposed by Windows XP.
The simple fix for this is to delete as much e-mail as you can from the Sent Items folder. [...]
