Lucy’s Question: Transferring e-mail from Outlook Express to Windows Mail

1) In Outlook Express export your e-mail to a USB key or external hard drive.
2) Transfer the USB key to the new laptop
3) In Windows Mail go to File->Import and choose Outlook Express 6 store directory
4) Browse to USB key and import the mail.

Bill’s Question: Sending attachments Outlook Express break it into pieces.

This can be easily turned off by following these steps:
1. Open Tools/Accounts, select the email account you want to change, and click Properties.
2. Click the Advanced tab
3. Under Sending, uncheck ‘Break apart messages larger than’
4. Save your changes.

Walter’s Question: E-mails stuck in the Outbox

Walter’s Outlook Express is unable to copy any file from the Outbox folder to the Sent Items folder. This is most commonly caused by the Sent Items folder exceeding the 2 Gb limit imposed by Windows XP.
